ProFuturo: now more united by education than ever

BY: Grethel Halftermeyer

Due to the global crisis generated by COVID-19, many schools have closed their doors, disrupting the education of more than 80% of the world’s students, according to UNICEF. Many of these students are in situations of vulnerability and education is their only source of hope to change their future and break the cycle of poverty. For them, education cannot wait.

Now more than ever, Fundación Telefónica in partnership with Fundación La Caixa, through the ProFuturo program, renew their commitment to breaking educational barriers and counteracting the effects that this crisis is having on education by making all of their digital tools available to students, teachers, and parents so that education can continue.

Thousands of free resources for teachers, students, and parents

Classrooms may be empty, but at home, from any country in the world and without having to be part of the ProFuturo program, any family, student, and teacher with an internet connection can access each and every one of the resources that ProFuturo makes available for free through its digital platform.

Teachers can develop their teaching skills with more than 160 courses and 2,800 hours of training. All students from 8 to 12 years old can find fascinating content linked to science and technology, mathematics, language, and values.

Parents, who take an active role in their children’s education can access a catalog of more than 1,600 courses that can be filtered by subject, age, or level of difficulty. Now more than ever, we must unite for education, so that no boy or girl is left behind.
