6 Winning Ideas Selected in First Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge in Honduras

BY: Fabretto

Fabretto Children’s Foundation and partner Asociación Bayan held the first Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge this November in Intibucá and Lempira, Honduras.

The youth who participated in the challenge are students in a blended learning course on Youth Entrepreneurship, offered through a partnership between Fabretto and Bayan in two departments of Honduras, Intibucá and Lempira, at Sistema de Aprendizaje Tutorial (SAT) secondary schools. This course was developed in Nicaragua and introduced in Honduras in 2023.

In the course, youth focus on developing entrepreneurial spirit, understanding and proposing solutions to their communities needs, and creating business plans, including budgets and financial projections.

At the final Challenge event, finalists pitched their business ideas to a panel of judges. In Lempira, the departmental director of Education joined representatives from Fabretto and Bayan as a judging panel member. The events received coverage in local media and support from the educational and broader community.
