For the past year and a half, Fabretto has collaborated with partner BAYAN to train and support youth entrepreneurs from rural communities of Lempira and Intibuca, Honduras. With the generous support of the Inter-American Foundation, Fabretto offered a blended learning course to 96 youth entrepreneurs, where students learned about entrepreneurship and a step-by-step process to develop their own business initiatives, culminating in the Entrepreneurship Challenge of 2023.
In August 2024, 66 young entrepreneurs gathered in Gracias, Lempira to present their businesses in the “Emprende Joven” fair, organized by Fabretto and partner BAYAN with support from the Secretary of Education and municipal government.
Youth entrepreneurship helps young people reach their full potential in many ways – through personal development building confidence, creativity, and independence; through skill building in financial literacy, problem solving and more; and generating an economic impact for themselves and their families. In addition, all of Fabretto’s projects centralize the importance of social impact and service to the community. As they develop their own initiatives, youth also consider how their businesses can make a positive difference in their communities.
