At Fabretto, we are proud to continue the legacy of our founder, Padre Fabretto: to serve and educate children anywhere in any circumstances. We are pleased to announce that we have relaunched our Child Sponsorship program by sponsoring 60 kids in Honduras in partnership with our local partner, ACOES.
HOW CHILD SPONSORSHIP WORKS
Our sponsorship program matches each sponsor with a child to bring opportunities to more kids in the most underserved communities. In coordination with the ACOES center, the program provides them with quality education, nutritious meals, and the tools they need to reach their full potential. Fabretto is working with ACOES to strengthen the quality of their education programs, improve the nutritional value of school meals, and provide support services and school materials to children in the program. Fabretto also facilitates communication between sponsors and their sponsored children.
This first phase of Child Sponsorship in Honduras will benefit children at three rural centers in the department of La Paz. The families of the children in the program are primarily farmers who grow basic grains like beans and corn. In Honduras, just 50% of children who begin the 1st grade will reach the 9th grade, and in rural areas like La Paz, desertion is even higher.
THANK YOU, SPONSORS!
Thanks to their sponsors, these 60 children from La Paz in the Fabretto’s program received a backpack and school supplies the past February. Many of these children do not have basic essential items but now they all have started classes with the motivation to stay in school throughout the year.
We are deeply grateful for the support of each of the sponsors participating in this first phase of Fabretto Child Sponsorship in Honduras!
Together, we can bring sustainable change across the Americas.
Our program in Honduras is growing, and we will reach out to the Fabretto Child Sponsors family soon. If you are interested in sponsoring a child in Honduras, please get in touch with us by writing to [email protected]
