Innovation Born in the Community
“An impressive impact.” — Rosa, participant in the Motikoli project
During its first phase, Fabretto Innova supported four community innovation projects in partnership with local organizations Asociación Bayan, Educate2Envision (E2E), and ACOES. Thanks to the support of the International Foundation, youth participants were able to apply what they had learned in Fabretto Innova 2024 to serve their communities through innovative proposals.
Developed between May and October 2025, these projects demonstrated that when education combines creativity and commitment, the results reach far beyond the classroom.
- In Copán, the project “Agua Caliente, te quiero limpia” promoted environmental care and material reuse, benefiting more than 1,400 residents.
- In Francisco Morazán, “Con pilas en Pajarillos, se vive mejor” helped reduce water consumption through eco-friendly wash stations, inspiring new families and donors to replicate the experience.
- In Yoro, “Motikoli: Innovative Motivation for Quality Education” strengthened learning through digital tools, benefiting 700 families and increasing school attendance.
- And in La Paz, the “Virtual Library” project enabled more than 150 children and youth to access educational materials, improving academic performance by 90%.
In total, over 2,200 people benefited from these initiatives—proof that an idea can become action, and a project can become hope.
Building Leaders, Not Just Projects
“The best experience ever.” — Alix, participating teacher
The second phase of Fabretto Innova 2025 aimed to strengthen the leadership and innovation skills of youth and teachers, equipping them with tools to continue driving positive change in their communities.
Through four virtual sessions, with 35–40 participants per meeting, they explored the stages of Design Thinking: empathize, define, ideate, and prototype. Many joined from rural areas with limited internet access, showing great perseverance and eagerness to learn.
“My greatest experience as a student is that I feel motivated by words.” — Rosa, student participant
That enthusiasm came to life during the in-person gathering held from October 21–24, 2025, at the San Antonio Retreat Center in Comayagua. There, 53 participants —48 from partner organizations and 5 from Fabretto’s technical team— came together to share learnings, present results, and co-create new proposals.
Across both phases, more than 80 young people and educators actively participated in Fabretto Innova 2025, proving that innovation grows stronger when it’s built in community.
