Creating Opportunity Through Education: Kevin Marinacci Honored at Kellogg Reunion 2026

BY: Wendy Gámez

Fabretto’s CEO was recognized by his Kellogg Class of 1996 peers for his lifelong commitment to expanding educational opportunities across Central America.

“Kevin’s work hasn’t just changed lives. It has changed futures across generations and across borders.”

Those were the words fellow Kellogg alumnus and longtime friend Gabriel Biguria used to introduce Kevin Marinacci at the 2026 Kellogg Reunion, where he was honored as one of twelve members of the Kellogg Class of 1996 whose work has made a lasting impact on communities in the United States and around the world through outstanding contributions to education and social impact.

For more than three decades, Kevin has dedicated his career to expanding opportunities for children, youth, and families across Central America. Through his leadership at Fabretto, thousands of young people have gained access to quality education, workforce development programs, nutrition support, and the skills they need to build brighter futures.

A Lifelong Commitment to Education

The 2026 honor is the latest in a series of recognitions from Kellogg that reflect Kevin’s enduring commitment to purpose-driven leadership. While still a student, he was named Public and Nonprofit Student of the Year in 1996. In 2008, he received the Kellogg Social Entrepreneur Alumni of the Year award, recognizing his use of business leadership to expand educational opportunity and drive lasting social impact.

In 2019, Kevin was also selected as a Youn Impact Scholar, joining a distinguished community of Kellogg students and alumni recognized for their leadership, innovation, and commitment to creating positive social change. The honor celebrated his work advancing opportunities for underserved communities through education and economic development.

Growing Opportunity Through Fabretto

Under Kevin’s leadership, Fabretto has expanded its reach across Central America, helping tens of thousands of children, youth, and families build more stable and prosperous futures.

Reflecting on Kevin’s leadership, Biguria, a Guatemalan business leader and fellow Kellogg alumnus, highlighted Fabretto’s remarkable growth over the years. What began as a small organization serving a few hundred children in Nicaragua has evolved into a regional nonprofit that today reaches more than 40,000 children and families across Central America. He also expressed his appreciation that Fabretto now serves communities in his home country of Guatemala, extending its mission through education, nutrition, workforce development, and community-based programs.

Through Fabretto’s integrated approach, students gain access not only to academic support, but also to nutrition programs, technology training, vocational education, entrepreneurship opportunities, and career readiness skills. Together, these initiatives equip young people with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills they need to succeed in school, enter the workforce, and strengthen their communities.

Biguria also emphasized the importance of Fabretto’s partnerships in expanding the organization’s impact throughout the region. By working alongside educators, community leaders, businesses, and global partners, Fabretto has strengthened schools, improved agricultural practices, expanded access to learning resources, and helped address food insecurity in vulnerable communities.

As countries across Central America continue to face challenges related to poverty, limited educational access, and chronic malnutrition, Fabretto remains focused on equipping children, youth, and families with the tools they need to thrive and build lasting change.

A Recognition Shared by Many

Throughout his remarks, Biguria emphasized that Kevin’s impact extends far beyond organizational growth or program outcomes. He spoke about the values that have guided Kevin’s leadership for decades, including humility, service, integrity, and a deep commitment to the people and communities Fabretto serves.

“Kevin is one of the most outstanding, impactful, visionary, and humble human beings you will ever know,” Biguria said. “You have shown all of us what it means to live with purpose, humility, and heart.”

For Kevin, this recognition is about the collective efforts of students, educators, families, donors, partners, and supporters who have helped advance the organization’s mission of creating opportunities through education.

“I am honored by this recognition, but I accept it on behalf of everyone who has been part of Fabretto’s mission over the years,” said Kevin. “I have simply tried to follow Padre Fabretto’s vision of creating opportunities through education. Every student, teacher, family, donor, and partner has played a role in making this work possible.”

“I would also like to recognize the invaluable support of Kellogg professors and students, past and present, who have contributed to Fabretto as donors, volunteers, and board members. Without a doubt, Fabretto would not be where it is today without their selfless service, unwavering commitment, and thoughtful guidance.”

Kellogg Reunion 2026 provided an opportunity to celebrate leaders who are using their talents and expertise to address some of society’s most pressing challenges. For Kevin, the honor serves as a reminder that meaningful change is always the result of people working together toward a shared purpose.

As Fabretto looks to the future, we remain committed to expanding educational opportunities and empowering the next generation of leaders across Central America. Kevin’s recognition by Kellogg underscores the enduring impact of that mission, and reminds us that transformative change is only possible because of a community of supporters who believe in the power of education.
